Syntopix

Syntopix is developing new therapeutics for dermatological diseases, including acne and Staphylococcus aureus infections such as the MRSA “superbug”. Work is based on the research of husband and wife team Dr Jon Cove and Dr Anne Eady. Syntopix was spun out of the University of Leeds by the Techtran Group, the university’s commercialisation partner and the new funding, from Viking Fund, White Rose Technology Seedcorn Fund and business angels Dr Gwyn Humphreys and Dr Rod Adams, will be used to strengthen the management structure, increase the research team to six and accelerate the development of anti-acne products. Syntopix is the first Viking Fund investment to be floated on AIM. www.syntopix.com
