Viking Fund company partners with regional Primary Care Trusts

Viking Fund portfolio company NutraTech is going from strength to strength as it partners with a number of NHS Primary Care Trusts.

Walsall and North Staffordshire PCTs are each helping staff lose weight by providing NutraTech's online service to their respective employees, in an effort to help them shed excess pounds. Walsall PCT began piloting NutraTech's bespoke online dieting service in May 2008, but has now extended the contract for a further twelve months due to its popularity with staff. NutraTech provides an interactive personal food diary for users which automatically tracks food intake against calorie and fat targets. It includes an exercise diary and a range of tools showing an individual’s energy in/out balance that’s needed to lose weight. Commenting on NutraTech’s development, Managing Director of Viking Fund Andrew Burton said; “To witness the company’s growth is fantastic. The emerging relationships that are being developed within the NHS are exciting and will hopefully act as a catalyst for future projects within the sector.”
