Investing in technology The Viking Fund is a Yorkshire-wide, co-investment venture capital fund, specialising in providing finance for early-stage technology companies. The £5 million fund was set up with UK government capital, under the DBERR/Small Business Service’s Early Growth Fund. It provides early-stage risk capital to match - on the same terms - that invested by business angels or other private sector investors. In three years of trading, Viking Fund has received more than 315 applications for funding and made more than 48 investments in 23 companies, totalling £3.4 million plus an additional £4.6 million in match funding. Read about the companies we support in our Portfolio.
Viking Loan Fund The Viking Loan Fund is part of a £5.0m package of measures announced by Yorkshire Forward in February 2009 to provide the region's businesses with working capital during the recession. It will be lending a total of £1.0m in the form of unsecured loans alongside business angels investing their capital, management experience and expertise in existing companies in Yorkshire and Humber.
Applicants will need to satisfy a number of conditions in order to be considered.
The Viking Club is an exclusive investment club for individuals with an interest in financing early-stage technology companies. Visit our website for information on membership and benefits. Contact |
